Informal networking (before you even send your CV)

According to a survey by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, informal networking is typically responsible for six out of ten Swedish job positions. Joining the expat networking group InterNations is one of the best ways to meet other foreigners working in Sweden.

The Architecture Gala is the Nordic region's largest meeting place for architecture. The Architecture Gala 2021 was held digitally and free of charge.

Mingle, lectures, debates, and discussions will characterize Southern Sweden Design Days, which is realized in collaboration with local, national, and international organizations. The event is multilingual. The language of each speaker (Swedish/Scandinavian or English) is indicated in the program.

- Almedalan (July)
Almedalsveckan (Almedalen Week) is a democratic meeting place where everyone can join and co-create. The festival’s target group is people interested in social issues including politicians, organizers, professional visitors, and ordinary participants. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, creating the feeling that everyone who matters is there. Chance meetings can lead to unexpected effects. Admission is free. The 8-day festival is located in Visby, on the island of Gotland, and takes place at the beginning of July. It lasts 8 days because each parliamentary party has one day at their disposal during the week. Visby is located 180 km and a boat trip from Stockholm.

- Arkitekturdagen (Architecture Day) (September)
Hosted by Sveriges Arkitekter at Form / Design Center. The event takes place over two days and focuses on the architecture of the future and the architectural role of the future. It is a meeting place for those interested in architecture where you could take part in international lectures, rewarding seminars, and debates. Arkitekturdagen has become a phenomenon among political festivals and multiple countries have created similar venues throughout the years.

SUSTAINORDIC is a platform and network that aims to promote sustainable consumption and production based on a Nordic perspective, in accordance with the UN’s Global Goal 12 of Agenda 2030. The initiative takes its starting point in a joint Manifesto with twelve underlying subgoals. The Manifesto has interpreted Goal 12 into more concrete points of action which resonate with Nordic values. SUSTAINORDIC is a collaborative network between six Nordic design and architecture institutions. The project owners are the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design (SE) and Form/Design Center (SE), the co-partners are DogA (NO), DAC (DK), Design Forum Finland (FI) and Iceland Design and Architectur (IS). The project was founded in 2015 with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
